We have been working soooooo hard, just to keep things going at the store, as this is a season based business. The website is still under development; the UI of the store is now finalized though, and that is a relief.
A whole season of clothing is available, but as the platform is yet to be erected, and the products are yet to be put on sale, I am stuck in the middle of a crisis: the lack of working capital.
Unlike those humongous online stores that dump thousands of products on the limited number of customers, We are going to keep it small and rough it out.
What started off as a quest for creating just another online store will become a place where people discuss fashion, explore stuff, and get inspired to innovate. Fashion Adda will not be just another online store. People have Myntra and 'Fashion and You' for that.
Unfortunate as it is, instead of becoming shining examples of entrepreneurial talent, huge sites like Myntra.com have now become the example of unhealthy business practices - pouring too much money too early in the business, overspending on advertising, and investing in facilities where investment should not be done directly, like delivery.
The attempt here will be to remain pure and keep overheads low. Shave off every extra bit of expenses, make the retail business firm and robust, and raise the site as the founding participant, rather than a seller.
